British number one Kyle Edmund has admitted that he is relieved to have secured victory over Alex Bolt in his opening match at Wimbledon.
The world number 17 said that there is always added pressure and media attention around the first contest of a Grand Slam competition, and confessed that he was "really happy" with his performance.
"I'm just really happy to get through the first round," The Guardian quotes Edmund as saying.
"There's always that long build-up, which is difficult, lots of excitement, anticipation and media attention. So it's good to get the first round out of the way."
Edmund saw off Bolt 6-2 6-3 7-5 in under two hours to secure his place in round two.
