Simona Halep has cruised into the second round at Wimbledon by beating Brazil's Teliana Pereira in straight sets this evening.
The Romanian dropped four games in the whole match to seal victory in just over an hour and progress to the next stage.
Halep got off to a fine start, inflicting two breaks of serve en route to a commanding 4-1 lead in the opening set before ultimately winning 6-2.
The second set began just as ominously for the Brazilian, as two lost service games helped Halep into a commanding four-game lead, and the world number three then eased into the second round by the same margin as the opening set.
