Petra Kvitova has advanced into the second round of Wimbledon after a 6-4 6-4 victory over Akgul Amanmuradova.
The defending champion started slowly and was broken at 1-0 as Amanmuradova moved 3-0 ahead in the opening set.
However, Kvitova recovered in impressive style to twice break back and secure the first set 6-4 on serve.
Kvitova secured a break of serve early in the second, while it remained on serve until rain interrupted the play.
The Czech held strong, however, to serve it out as she stormed into the second round.
