America's most successful Winter Olympian of all time, Apolo Anton Ohno, has backed Viktor Ahn to win gold in the short track speed skating event at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The 28-year-old won four medals for South Korea at the 2006 Torino Games, but will compete for Russia in Sochi this month after becoming a citizen of the host nation.
"[Ahn] is one of the best short track speed skaters to ever put skates on," Reuters quotes Ohno as saying.
"His technique, his experience and his ability is at the very, very top, and I think his chances of winning gold are very high."
Ahn switched his allegiance to Russia after failing to find a place in the Korean team for the 2010 Vancouver Games.
