Speed skater Viktor Ahn has won the Russian Federation's first ever short track gold medal, as the host nation sealed the top two podium places in the men's 1000m final at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
The South Korea-born 28-year-old clocked up a time of 1:25.325 to secure the pioneering first place for his adopted nation.
His compatriot Vladimir Grigorev finished 0.074 behind to take the silver, with Sjinkie Knegt of the Netherlands also making the podium.
