Great Britain skeleton racer Lizzy Yarnold has revealed that her preparation has to be spot on before she slides the course.
The 25-year-old won the World Cup title earlier this year, and is widely tipped to finish in the medal positions in the skeleton in the Sochi Winter Olympics.
She told The Telegraph: "Music plays a really big part for me. But before I go, five minutes before, I'll take my ear phones out and tune in to the environment and what's going on, trying to listen in to the small sounds so my senses are really focused, ready to go down.
"Everything has to come together for me to slide better."
Yarnold will get her campaign for a medal underway in the first run of the skeleton later today.
