Sports Mole picks the bones out of Millwall's third-straight win in the Championship against Leeds United.

Millwall scored their third win on the bounce by adding to Leeds United's recent woes in the Championship this afternoon.

Second-half goals from Martyn Woolford and Scott Malone settled it for the hosts as Leeds slumped to their fourth straight defeat in all competitions.

Below, Sports Mole picks apart the match at The Den.

Match statistics:

Millwall:
Shots 11
On target 3
Possession 46%
Corners 2
Fouls 12

Leeds:
Shots 8
On target 2
Possession 54%
Corners 1
Fouls 12

Was the result fair?

Yes. Leeds offered very little and deserved to leave The Den with absolutely nothing. The first half was very bitty but there was more goalmouth action in the second 45 minutes. The Lions simply took their chances, while Leeds toiled down the other end.

Millwall's performance

It was never going to be a goalfest but Millwall kept Leeds out, with Danny Shittu especially impressing in place of the injured Mark Beevers. The frontline worked hard but it was Millwall's midfield that actually looked more dangerous when they ventured forward. Malone has got his chance in the team because of Shane Lowry's three-match suspension and his performance today might mean that the latter will find it hard to get back in the side.

Leeds's performance

It's now four straight losses in the league for Brian McDermott's men. They were tame all afternoon and eventually crumbled to two quality Millwall goals. It must seem an age ago that Leeds had an unbeaten start to the season and were flying high.

Sports Mole's man of the match

Martyn Woolford: The Millwall stalwart took his goal excellently and came so close to a second when he got on the end of another break and chipped Paddy Kenny, only for the ball to curl too much and come back off the post.

Biggest gaffe

Although it ended up meaning nothing, Malone almost scored a hilarious own goal when he confused keeper David Forde before poking it past him. It looked like the ball was going to trickle in until Malone managed to get back and swipe the ball against his own post and then out.

Referee performance

Chris Foy usually officiates in the Premier League and may have been expecting some trouble today in what is traditionally a fiery clash. However, it was quiet afternoon for Foy, with just two yellow cards.

What next?

Millwall: The Lions can make it four wins on the bounce if they beat Birmingham City at St Andrew's on Tuesday night.

Leeds: Leeds, meanwhile, can end their winless streak when Bournemouth visit Elland Road in three days' time.
