Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between Millwall and Middlesbrough, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Millwall welcome Middlesbrough to The Den on Saturday afternoon in a game where a win could drag them out of the bottom half.

Meanwhile, interim coach Leo Percovich will again lead Middlesbrough out while the club search for a replacement for Chris Wilder.

Match preview

Millwall's recent form has been up and down this season and following Wednesday evening's draw away at Rotherham United, they sit in 16th, just one point and two places above their opponents on Saturday.

Gary Rowett's side are much stronger at home than away though, having won 12 of their 14 points at The Den.

Wednesday's draw at Rotherham was only Millwall's second point on the road this season so Rowett will be relieved that his side host a potentially resurgent Middlesbrough on home soil.

Zian Flemming scored in the 1-1 draw at Rotherham on Wednesday, cancelling out an early Daniel Barlaser penalty.

Middlesbrough's start to the season has been disappointing given their expectations, having picked up just 13 points from 12 league games.

It was a recent defeat against the Championship's bottom club Coventry City that was the final straw for Chris Wilder, as he was sacked following the result.

Middlesbrough had an immediate response in midweek though, defeating Birmingham City 1-0 in a result that saw them climb out of the relegation zone.

Chuba Akpom scored the only goal of that game, and his return to the team could not be better timed, with Boro's star striker having already registered three times in five appearances this season.

The win over Birmingham continued their run of remaining undefeated at home in the league this season, which is a remarkable statistic when you see their position in the Championship table.

Team News

Mason Bennett returned to the bench in midweek and the English forward will be pushing for a start alongside Tom Bradshaw.

However, Zian Flemming may be difficult to oust from the starting 11, as his goal and performance against Rotherham on Wednesday will make it hard to drop the Dutchman to the bench.

Ryan Leonard remains sidelined for the hosts, but otherwise Gary Rowett has a strong squad at his disposal.

For Middlesbrough, exciting winger Isaiah Jones will be pushing for a start here having served his suspension in Wednesday's 1-0 win over Birmingham City.

Elsewhere, Chuba Akpom will be hoping to start consecutive games following his return from injury and has a good chance of starting alongside Rodrigo Muniz.

Darragh Lenihan returned to the squad on Wednesday evening and will likely have to start from the bench here, but his return is welcome news for Middlesbrough.

It looks as though Leo Percovich has a few good selection headaches for this game, with the likes of Matt Crooks, Alex Mowatt and Riley McGree pushing for a start here.

Millwall possible starting lineup:
Long; McNamara, Hutchinson, Cooper, Wallace; Mitchell, Saville; Voglsammer, Flemming, Burey; Bradshaw

Middlesbrough possible starting lineup:
Steffen; McNair, Fry, Bola; Jones, Crooks, Howson, McGree, Giles; Akpom, Muniz

We say: Millwall 1-1 Middlesbrough

Despite their recent victory over Birmingham, Middlesbrough are yet to prove themselves on the road this season and with The Den being a tricky place to get a result from, a score draw appears to be on the cards here.
