Tony Gonzalez has said that he has no regrets from his NFL career, despite never making it to a Super Bowl.
The Atlanta Falcons tight end has said that he is 95% sure that he will not return to play in 2013, having played in the league for 16 seasons.
The 36-year-old told reporters: "I've been very blessed. I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me.
"I've had a great ride, an unbelievable ride. I have no regrets. Not one. And if there's anyone out there, media or anyone, even think about saying that I'm going to have regrets, I'm telling you right now, that's not the case, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
"I was ready [Sunday]. I would love to keep playing, but that's the nature of the beast."
Gonzalez won a post-season game for the first time in his career with the Falcons this season, but the side were knocked out of the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers yesterday.
