Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith has admitted that his side weren't good enough during last night's 17-13 defeat to the New Orleans Saints.
The Falcons guaranteed a losing season by dropping to 2-9 with the loss, failing to score a single point in the second half as the Saints protected their slender lead.
Smith acknowledged that there were some positives for his side to take from the match, but believes that the fact that they lost means they weren't good enough.
"We responded to momentum changes and some adversity in the football game. But it was still not good enough. If you don't win, it's not good enough," Smith told The AP.
The Falcons are now bottom of the NFC South, while the Saints top the division with a 9-2 record.
