Dan Carpenter scores a 58-yard field goal with just four seconds remaining to hand the Buffalo Bills a dramatic comeback victory over the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

The Buffalo Bills came back from 14 points down to beat the Detroit Lions 17-14 in the dying stages of their NFL clash at Ford Field this evening.

The deadlock wasn't broken until the final seconds of the first quarter when Golden Tate picked up his first touchdown for the Lions, collecting a nine-yard Matthew Stafford pass in the endzone.

Detroit's seven-point lead soon became 14 when Kyle Orton only succeeded in picking out Rashean Mathis with a pass, and the Lions cornerback cruised unchallenged into the endzone for a 41-yard interception return.

The Bills did get themselves on the scoreboard before the end of the first half as Dan Carpenter kicked a 45-yard field goal to reduce the deficit to 11 points.

Carpenter continued to chip away at the lead with another field goal in the closing stages of the third quarter, this time converting from 25 yards.

Buffalo drew level with 9:23 remaining of the match when Orton looped a pass over to a wide-open Chris Gragg for a two-yard score, while Fred Jackson rushed into the endzone for a two-point conversion.

They then completed the comeback with just four seconds remaining as Carpenter fired over a mammoth 58-yard field goal to clinch the victory for his side.
