Cam Newton has guided his side to three touchdowns in the first half of their clash against the Green Bay Packers to put the NFC South outfit into a 27-7 lead at half time.
The Panthers moved seamlessly downfield on their first possession of the game when Newton converted two third downs with his feet, but they were held out of the endzone, forcing Graham Gano to kick a field goal to hand his side the lead.
Green responded at the end of the first quarter when Aaron Rodgers led his side to the redzone and Eddie Lacy powered his team to the goalline. The back was denied on his attempted carry, but Rodgers then drilled the ball to tight end Richard Rodgers for a one-yard score to take the lead.
Carolina regained their lead when Newton moved his side downfield once again and the quarterback displayed his power by charging over the goalline for the touchdown.
The Panthers notched another score when Newton fired deep for Devin Funchess and the wideout was brought down at the seven-yard line. Two plays later, Newton was afforded time to find Greg Olsen in the endzone for the score.
Gano made a field goal from 29 yards to extend his side's advantage, before Newton notched his second touchdown strike of the game by finding Corey Brown deep in the endzone.
