Arian Foster scored three touchdowns as the Houston Texans secured their fourth win of the season with a comfortable 30-16 victory over the Tennessee Titans at LP Field.
The Titans got on the scoreboard in the first quarter when they took advantage of a punt return by Dexter McCluster, who ran the ball back 48 yards from Shane Lechler's kick. Ryan Succop put three points up with a 35-yard field goal after the offense failed to convert on third down.
Houston's offense could get nothing going in the first quarter as Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for just 31 yards, as he endured pressure from the Titans defense when he was sacked for a 12-yard loss by Daimion Stafford.
The Texans got on the scoreboard when Randy Bullock fired a field goal through the posts from 30 yards. The visitors then scored a touchdown run as Foster cut back to his right and used his speed to run all the way into the endzone for the 34-yard score.
Bullock added another field goal just before the break to put the Texans in command of the game after Fitzpatrick was sacked in the redzone.
In the second half, the Texans extended their lead when JJ Watt strip-sacked Zach Mettenberger and gave his offense a short field to work with. Fitzpatrick took full advantage as he found Foster in the flat for the simple touchdown.
Foster continued his fine afternoon as he ran 43 yards all the way down to the goalline before he was brought down. However, he then powered into the endzone on the next play for a one-yard touchdown.
The Titans scored a touchdown late in the third quarter when Mettenberger engineered a good drive, which culminated in a six-yard strike to tight end Delanie Walker in the endzone.
Bullock restored a 21-point lead for his side with a 49-yard field goal, but the Titans scored a consolation touchdown in the final minute of the game when Mettenberger hit Justin Hunter for a 12-yard score, but the game belonged to the Texans.
