Josh Freeman has said that he has been making "a lot of progress" since making his debut for the Minnesota Vikings.
The quarterback joined the NFC North side last month after being cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but suffered a loss and sustained a concussion during his only appearance for the team so far.
The 25-year-old told the St Paul Pioneer Press: "I'm making a lot of progress from my first game.
"I can't speak for the coaches. I can't speak for Leslie [Frazier]. I'm just working as hard as I can.
"When they need me to go in I plan to go in and play well, whenever that may be. Nobody in the NFL doesn't want to be the starter."
Christian Ponder has started since Freeman's appearance.
