The New England Patriots have announced that they have activated running back Shane Vereen to their roster from their injured reserve list.

The 24-year-old was placed on their injured reserve - designated to return list in week two of the season after he broke his wrist in his side's season opener against the Buffalo Bills.

Vereen returned to practice two weeks ago and has proved his fitness enough to return to the 53-man roster ahead of the Patriots' clash with the Carolina Panthers.

The Patriots are 7-2 going into their week 11 clash.
