New York Jets coach Rex Ryan has criticised the performance of quarterback Mark Sanchez during a practice match on Wednesday.
Sanchez's place as the starting QB is not guaranteed this season, and Ryan has confirmed that the throwing of three training interceptions has added further doubt.
"Yeah, it is [a disappointing performance]," NFL.com quotes Ryan as saying. "Absolutely. It's a good thing defense makes the plays, but no, I'd rather him not turn the ball over once.
"He did a lot of great things, and then those negative things, at the end of the day, that's what gets you beat. And so we got to do a better job of eliminating those turnovers."
Draft pick Geno Smith is expected to push Sanchez for a starting place in 2013.
