Mark Sanchez has insisted that the New York Jets are "moving forward" after beating the Jacksonville Jaguars 37-13 in a pre-season game.
The quarterback completed 13 of his 23 passing attempts for 169 yards, making one touchdown pass and one interception during the game.
The 26-year-old told the team's official website: "I felt like we were really close tonight. We were close to breaking things open.
"I thought we had a great first drive. We got down in the red zone a couple of times. So we'll clean up some of those things and keep moving forward."
Sanchez is facing competition from rookie Geno Smith, who missed the game with an ankle injury, to be the team's starting quarterback.
