The San Francisco 49ers have completed the signing of cornerback Eric Wright on a one-year deal.
The 49ers had initially agreed to sign Wright from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last month but the deal broke down after the 28-year-old failed a physical.
The Buccaneers went on to release Wright before the 49ers resurrected their interest in the player due to a season-ending injury suffered by fellow cornerback Chris Culliver.
There was no repeat of the physical concerns that blocked Wright's initial move, clearing the way for him to join the franchise.
Wright is expected to act as back-up to Tarell Brown, Carlos Rogers and Tramaine Brock in the 49ers' defensive line.
