Mo Farah not getting "carried away"

Mo Farah remains focused for London 2012 despite winning the 5,000m gold at the World Athletics Championships.

Great Britain's Mo Farah has refused to get too carried away with the gold medal he won during the 5,000m at the World Athletics Championships earlier today.

The 28-year-old held off a late challenge from American athlete Bernard Lagat to take first place in a time of 13:23.36.

After the race, Farah revealed that he is delighted with his victory after finishing second in the 10,000m event, but has insisted that he is keeping his feet on the ground ahead of next year's Olympic Games.

"I can't quite believe it," Farah told BBC Sport. "I pictured the 10k on the last lap thinking, I came so close then I'm not going to let anyone pass me.

"It's been hard work and a lot of sacrifices and I have to thank so many people who've been behind me.

"But you can't get carried away. It's a long way [to the London 2012 Olympics]. The aim is to stay injury free. Anything can happen in long distance."

Farah has become the first Briton to win a world title over that distance.
