The Texas Rangers clinched World Series glory for the first time in their history with a 4-1 beating of the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
Leading 3-1 in the series heading into Wednesday's fifth game. Bruce Bochy's side enjoyed a late surge for a 5-0 victory on the night to win their inaugural Championship.
The game remained scoreless until the seventh inning, where Corey Seager charged through on an RBI single by Mitch Garver, before Jonah Heim capitalised on a fielding error at the top of the ninth.
Heim's single added another two for the Rangers, before Marcus Semien hit a two-run home run to kill the game off, as Bochy revelled in World Series triumph number four.
Meanwhile, Seager was crowned the World Series Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the second time in his career, having also taken the accolade with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020. body check tags ::
