Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams has said that he is almost ready to go ahead of the new NBA campaign.
Despite struggling with injury issues last time out, Williams made history by tying the Nets' franchise record for steals in consecutive games, matching team legends Jason Kidd and Mookie Blaylock's 26.
"I don't think I'm 100% yet, but I'm pretty close," said Williams, according to The AP.
"I'm about 20% better than I was all of last season. I took care of the issues I had, and I think we're all looking to improve.
"I think we can compete in the East. I think it's there for the taking."
The Nets' first 2014-15 league fixture sees them take on the Boston Celtics.
