Former Los Angeles Lakers star Chris Duhon has been treated in hospital after being struck by a car in central Florida.
A report by the Orlando Police Department claims that Duhon was run over by a black Lexus after getting involved in a verbal altercation.
Duhon had been walking towards his vehicle in a garage parking lot, along with brother-in-law Julio Hernandez, when the Louisiana-born point guard became involved in an exchange of words with the driver of the Lexus.
The unnamed man then briefly got out of his car, before returning to the driver's seat and accelerating towards the pair.
Hernandez managed to avoid the car, however Duhon did not and the 31-year-old landed on the bonnet, hitting his head on the windscreen, before the Lexus drove away from the scene.
Duhon sustained small cuts to various parts of his body, but he was released from hospital to continue his recovery at home.
Duhon is currently a free agent after leaving the Lakers earlier this year. His NBA career has also seen him feature for the Chicago Bulls, the New York Knicks and Orlando Magic.
He turned professional in 2004 following four years with the Duke Blue Devils, for whom he made 300 steals and 819 assists.
