Danny Green scored 24 points and claimed 10 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs recorded a convincing 120-89 victory over the New York Knicks on Sunday evening.
Dominant performances in the first and third quarters of the game at Madison Square Garden helped the Spurs ease past a Knicks side who struggled to deal with the threat posed by Green, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker.
The Spurs were boosted by impressive displays from players off the bench, with Kawhi Leonard and Patty Mills combining for 33 points.
New York trailed by 16 at the halfway point and their bid for a win was effectively ended when they were outscored 29-15 in the third quarter.
Andrea Bargnani and Carmelo Anthony both scored 16 points for the hosts in defeat, while J.R. Smith added five more on his return to the court following a five-game suspension for violating the league's anti-drug policy.
