Dereck Chisora's bout with Deontay Wilder has yet to be officially agreed, according to Golden Boy Promotions.
British promoter Frank Warren announced the fight on Thursday, but the June 15 meeting could now be under threat.
Wilder was arrested last Saturday for "domestic battery by strangulation" and that could prevent him from travelling to England for the bout at the Wembley Arena.
Golden Boy's Eric Gomez told ESPN: "No, no deal. They jumped the gun.
"There's issues with Deontay traveling, because of the arrest. I asked them not to announce until it is resolved. They didn't listen.
"We just got the contract and we're still reviewing it. Right now, the fight's not looking good, though."
Wilder beat Audley Harrison inside the first round in April.
