Olympic gold medallist James DeGale has announced that he is to split with manager Frank Warren.
However, there has been some confusion over the announcement, with Frank Warren Promotions releasing a statement claiming that he is still under contract.
DeGale, who shot to prominence in the 2008 Olympics by winning the middleweight gold, released a statement through his solicitors Blick & Co saying that he would be moving on from Warren's stable of fighters.
"I think it is time for us both to move on," read the short statement from DeGale.
Warren has responded to this, denying that he and the 24-year-old are about to go their separate ways.
"We have seen the press reports today (Friday) in which James DeGale states that he is to split from his manager Frank Warren," the statement from Frank Warren Promotions read.
"This is not true; James DeGale is in fact under contract until April 14, 2013."
DeGale joined Frank Warren Promotions in 2008 after his Olympic heroics.
