Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn admits that he is frustrated by the lack of progress made in talks for a unification showdown between Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton.

Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn has claimed that negotiations for a unification clash between Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton had hit a "brick wall" before he attempted to strike a deal on Tuesday.

Hearn took to Sky Sports to make Frampton an offer of £1.5m to face Quigg in Manchester on July 18, but Cyclone Promotions, who represent the Northern Irishman, quickly indicated that they had no interest in accepting the offer.

Frampton's camp have insisted that any fight between the two super-bantamweight world champions must be a co-promotion, but Hearn has hit back by reiterating his desire to come to an agreement for the fight to take place in the summer.

Hearn told Matchroom Sport's official website: "It is not about Cyclone Promotions and Matchroom Sport, it's about Scott Quigg and Carl Frampton. If Cyclone Promotions really need their name on the poster and Michael Buffer to mention them in the introductions, then no problem.

"They are right that negotiations have been ongoing but they ended last week when we hit a brick wall.

"We're frustrated. Brook versus Khan has fallen by the wayside and we want to make sure that this fight happens. We've made Carl an offer of £1.5m to fight in Manchester on July 18. There's no reason why this fight can't happen and we are willing to put the money up.

"There's no offer from them and all the revenue is being delivered by us. We have massive respect for Carl, he's a brilliant fighter that I have worked with in the past. These are two great champions and we just want to see the fight; let's get it made."

Both Quigg and Frampton have previously indicated that a deal must be struck soon or they will make voluntary defences of their respective WBA and IBF belts.
