Women's boxing will make its Commonwealth Games debut in Glasgow in 2014.
The sport was featured at the Olympics for the first time this year in London, with Great Britain's Nicola Adams becoming the first female fighter to win a gold medal.
"As an organising committee we are delighted to be delivering an inclusive Games with more opportunities for women and Para-sport athletes," read a statement from the Commonwealth Games Federation.
Men have been allowed to box at the Games since its first edition in 1930.
