Hello and welcome to Sports Mole's live text commentary of day 13 of the Olympic boxing at London 2012.

Today is an historic occasion at the ExCel Centre, where the first women will be crowned as Olympic boxing champions of their respective weight classes.

Team GB's Nicola Adams is up first in the flyweight division. She takes on China's Ren Cancan for the chance to make history as the first female boxing gold medallist.

Then, Ireland's Katie Taylor clashes with Sofya Ochigava of Russia in the final of the lightweight tournament. Taylor brings with her an army of Irish fans who will be cheering her every punch.

Finally, Claressa Shields will be looking to show the United States' men's team how it's done by beating Russian middleweight Nadezda Torlopova in today's final gold medal bout.

Please note that the action gets underway at 4.30pm.

Round 2There isn't much 'boxing' per se. The pair seem content to stand in front of each other and pick their shots.

End of Round 1It is 3-3 after the first round. A fair reflection.

Round 1Shields unleashes a decent combination, working well to the body.

Round 1These two girls are not as mobile as the fighters in the previous two bouts. Torlopova has found her range early on.

Round 3Taylor looks to have arrived in this contest now. She is looking more like herself now. That second round scoreline might have just shocked her a bit.

Round 3Taylor gets the better of another exchange, ending with a left hook.

Round 3She wound that one up and delivered it with interest!

Round 3Taylor lands with a fantastic right hand!

End of Round 2Ochigava has gone ahead 4-3 at the halfway stage.

Round 2Both look quite cautious until they explode into one another.

Round 2Ochigava hit home well as both came in to attack again!

Round 2The pair exchange but neither is really landing cleanly.

End of Round 1Taylor has been working nicely on the inside but as it stands, the scores are level at 2-2.

Round 1A bit more of a cuatious start to this one, but Taylor looks on her toes!
