Norway's Eirik Veras Larsen has won gold in the men's kayak single 1,000m.

Larsen roared back to beat Canada's Adam van Koeverden, who won the silver while Germany's Max Hoff earned the bronze.

Van Koeverden accelerated out in front from the start to lead by almost a second by the halfway mark.

However, Larsen began to claw the Canadian back and once he had edged into the lead with 200m remaining, Van Koeverden could find no answer as the Norwegian won the race.

Team GB's Tim Brabants finished in eight place.
