Australia have wrapped up a 2-0 Test series win over India after the tourists overcame a late batting collapse to force a draw at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
India needed 189 in the final session of play to reach an unlikely target of 349 and salvage some pride.
However, Steve Smith's side were given hope of finishing the series on a high when the tourists slumped from 178-2 to 217-7.
Duncan Fletcher's side were saved when Ajinkya Rahane (38*) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (20*) saw the away side to safety with an unbroken partnership on 35.
Australia now turn their attention to preparations for next month's World Cup as they begin a triangular tournament with a one-day clash against England on Friday at the SCG.
