Steven Finn is hoping his hard work in the nets will earn him a recall for the fourth Ashes Test in Melbourne on Boxing Day.
Finn has so far sat out the first three Tests, but with the series beyond England, the Middlesex paceman is desperate to get back into the team.
He told ECB.co.uk: "To play on an occasion like that would be fantastic and something that I would really cherish.
"Realistically, I need to put my hand up in the nets this week, bowl quick and accurate, and that is something I am trying to do."
Finn missed out on the Boxing Day Test the last time England toured Australia in 2010-11.
