Ben Stokes returns to training

Ben Stokes overcomes a stomach illness to train with his England teammates ahead of tomorrow's second Test match against Pakistan.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has resumed training ahead of the second Test against Pakistan, which gets underway tomorrow morning.

Stokes was absent from yesterday's session and he also missed a function at the British Consulate in Dubai because of a stomach illness.

However, despite his return to duties today, captain Alastair Cook has insisted that the 24-year-old will only be considered for selection if he is 100% fit.

"Ben's a concern, but everyone else has pulled up pretty well. He's had a 24-hour bug. He didn't look very well yesterday apparently but he's here now and we'll see," the skipper told reporters.

"He should be fine, but we have to be careful. It depends how badly he has been knocked about because five days in this heat you need to be 100% before you start. We'll play it by ear and make a decision tomorrow morning."

During the first Test, Stokes scored a half-century and took four wickets.
