The ECB has reportedly approached Jason Gillespie regarding the England head coach's position.
The former Australian bowler has been heavily linked with the post, which was made vacant earlier this month following the sacking of Peter Moores.
Yesterday, the current Yorkshire coach played down the speculation by insisting that he was happy in his current position.
However, new director of England cricket Andrew Strauss has now made contact with the 40-year-old to discuss the possibility of him taking charge ahead of this summer's Ashes, according to Sky Sports News.
Gillespie took over the coaching role at Headingley back in 2011.
