New Zealand go 2-0 up in the ODI series against India by beating them by 15 runs thanks to the Duckworth-Lewis method.

New Zealand have won their second of the five-match one-day international series against India by 15 runs thanks to the Duckworth-Lewis method.

New Zealand took to the crease first, with Martin Guptill and Jesse Ryder leading the way, but numerous rain delays prompted the umpires to restrict both sides to 42 overs.

Guptill contributed with 44 runs from 65 balls, while Ryder stormed out of the blocks by scoring 20 from 11 balls, but the batsman was the first to fall at the hands of Mohammed Shami.

New Zealand's top scorer was Kane Williamson, who surpassed a half-century to grab 77 before being dismissed, while Ross Taylor also contributed with 57 runs.

The hosts completed their innings on 271-7, giving opponents India a chase of 293 to win the second one-day international.

Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma got off the mark in their innings, but they could only grab 12 and 20 runs respectively before getting dismissed.

However, Virat Kholi took a stronghold of the game by reaching 78 from 65 balls before getting sent packing by Tim Southee.

MS Dhoni managed to reach 56 before getting dismissed, while Shami (1) and Ishant Sharma's (1) innings were halted early as the rain came down in Hamilton.

India reached 277-9 before the umpires called an end to the match.
