Paul Nixon was named man of the match in his final game before retirement as Leicestershire beat Kent to reach Twenty20 finals day.
The 40-year-old wicketkeeper hit 31 as the Foxes won by three wickets at Grace Road, booking their place in the showpiece event at Edgbaston.
“I have had a special journey down the years at Grace Road,” Nixon told Sky Sports News.
“I have been here four decades and have met some amazing people. The Leicestershire crowd have been so supportive over the years.
“We knew if we got a decent start we had a chance because we have hitters all the way down. This club has meant everything, I have learnt so much, and I am very humbled. I have come in on a high and left on a high.”
Nixon played 330 First Class matches during his career, scoring 13,086 runs.
