Sussex County Cricket Club have announced that former captain Michael Yardy has signed a new one-year extension that will keep him at the outfit for the next two seasons.
The 33-year-old, who stood down as captain in July 2012, was expected to come to the end of his deal following a testimonial campaign in 2014.
"I'm really happy to have extended my contract with Sussex," Yardy told the club's official website.
"It's really important that we keep progressing and forward challenging on all fronts. My aim is to put in match winning performances to contribute towards that."
Yardy has scored over 9,000 runs in 167 first-class matches for Sussex, while in 166 List A games, the former England limited-overs player has racked up 3,000 runs and over 100 wickets.
