Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins admits that he is "not surprised" by the recent allegations made against Lance Armstrong.

Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins has admitted that he is "not surprised" by allegations that Lance Armstrong consistently used performance-enhancing drugs during his career.

The United States Anti-Doping Agency released a 1,000-page report on Wednesday claiming that the American, who has been stripped of his seven Tour titles, was part of the "the most sophisticated, professionalised and successful doping programme the sport has ever seen" with his former US Postal Service team.

"I'm certainly not surprised by it," the Team Sky rider told Sky Sports News.

"It is what it is. It stacks up pretty highly really, it's pretty damning. There's a lot of it and I think the evidence is now overwhelming.

"In a way this brings an end to the investigation which has been going on for quite a few years. Maybe now, as a sport, we can to move forward."

One of Wiggins's former teammates at Team Sky, Michael Barry, admitted to also using banned substances following the publication of the report.
