Luke Humphries has moved to the top of the Premier League by winning Week Seven in Nottingham.
Earlier in the night, Luke Littler produced the best performance of his career thus far, averaging 114 in thrashing Michael van Gerwen by a 6-2 scoreline.
However, the 17-year-old would be denied a place in the final by Nathan Aspinall, who came through their last-four contest with a 6-3 victory.
That set up a final with Humphries, who had previously fended up a comeback from Michael Smith to win 6-4 before overcoming Peter Wright with a 6-1 win after the Scot had defeated Gerwyn Price for his first victory of the competition.
Humphries was always in control against Aspinall, holding leads of 2-0 and 4-2, and although his opponent did well to stay in the contest, a 6-3 win was wrapped up with a 78 checkout.
The world champion also hit six 180s on his way to the triumph and he now sits two points clear of Van Gerwen, who failed to get any points on the board for the second week in succession.
Third is held by Litter - just two points adrift of Van Gerwen - with fourth and fifth shared by Aspinall and Rob Cross, with Smith a point further behind in sixth.
Price and Wright are now cut adrift from the rest of the field, with Price five points behind Smith and Wright a further three points below Price. body check tags ::
