Two-time world champion Adrian Lewis sets his sights on a third crown after producing a dominant performance to see off David Pallett last night.

Adrian Lewis is hopeful that his 3-0 victory over David Pallett last night was enough to send out a message to his main rivals for the PDC World Championship crown.

The 29-year-old, who won back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012, produced a dominant display at Alexandra Palace to book his place in the second round of the competition.

After recording a tournament-high three-dart average of 101.9, Lewis turned his attention to the rest of the chasing pack, telling PDC.tv: "I wanted to send out a warning shot to the rest of the field tonight and I think I did that.

"Following that first set when I came off the stage and saw I was on 123 average I fancied having a go at the record, but I missed a few doubles in the second set and it slipped away.

"No tournament really gives me a buzz like this one does, I've put a lot of work in over the last few weeks and I'll be practising more over Christmas as well because this is the one I want to win."

Elsewhere on day six of the showpiece tournament, youngster Max Hopp produced a huge upset by knocking out world number 10 Mervyn King.
