Benito van de Pas has produced arguably the performance of his career to record a 10-3 victory against James Wade in the second round of the Players Championship Finals.
The young Dutchman stormed into a 7-1 advantage thanks in part to a stunning performance on his doubles, and although Wade got a couple of legs on the board, he was powerless to prevent van de Pas winning with an average of 105.39.
Van de Pas's win came shortly after Mensur Suljovic continued his impressive 2015 with a 10-3 triumph against world number eight Michael Smith.
Smith threatened a comeback after finding himself 5-0 down, but Suljovic ended the match strongly, missing double 18 for a nine-dart leg before sealing the win.
Adrian Lewis eased into the last eight with a 10-3 success against Alan Norris, finishing the match with an average of just below 100.
Dave Chisnall is also through to the quarter-finals after a gutsy fightback against Jamie Lewis, with the St Helens thrower winning the final four legs to prevail by a 10-8 scoreline.
