Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has expressed his delight at reaching the third qualifying round of the Europa League courtesy of a 2-1 win over Groningen in Holland.
The Dons reached the next phase of the competition thanks to a penalty from Adam Rooney and a Niall McGinn strike in the second leg, following last week's goalless draw in Scotland.
"It was a special night for the supporters to come and see their team win," Sky Sports News quotes McInnes as saying.
"I always feel, whether we are an underdog or the favourites, we always put in a shift. It is a big result but to be honest it's no more than I expected. I always felt we could win here."
Aberdeen will face Real Sociedad in the next round.
