AC Milan defender Cristian Zapata has expressed his happiness with his input during his side's victory over Celtic in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Italian hosts netted twice in the final seven minutes as an Emilio Izaguirre own goal and a Sully Muntari strike was enough to give the Rossoneri a 2-0 win at the San Siro.
Zapata, whose deflected shot came off Izaguirre for the opener in the 83rd minute, is delighted with how the match went for Milan.
"I'm happy my shot helped Milan get this victory," Zapata told reporters. "It was deflected, yes, but it was still an important contribution, a deciding moment in the game.
"That goal allowed us to gain confidence; I want to dedicate it to my wife and daughter. It was a very good game for us, especially compared with our recent outing against Torino.
"Celtic have good players up front but we defended well tonight without giving many chances away. I hope we can continue like this."
