A first-half strike from Andrea Bertolacci has given Genoa a 1-0 half-time lead against AC Milan in their Serie A meeting at the San Siro this evening.
The home side were tested in the opening minute as Genoa tried to catch their opponents out with an early attack, but Bertolacci's strike from the edge of the box was saved.
The visitors continued to look the more likely in the opening stages of the match as M'Baye Niang played his way into the box before rifling the ball towards the Milan goal, only for Diego Lopez to tip the strike behind.
Alessio Cerci has the first real sight of goal for the hosts as he attempted to head in from near the penalty spot, but Mattia Perin was ready to make the catch.
Genoa made their superior possession count, though, when Bertolacci burst forward from midfield, rounding a couple of defenders before sliding the ball into the bottom corner shortly before the interval.
