AC Milan and Bologna have headed into half time level following a goalless first half at the San Siro.
The first chance of the match fell to the home side just over 10 minutes into the match, as Riccardo Montolivo tested the Bologna keeper with a shot from the edge of the area, before Mario Balotelli had a shot from the rebound, but struck it well high.
Milan continued to look the more likely of the two sides to score an early goal, but the visitors had a chance of their own in the 22nd minute as Rene Krhin tried to get the better of Christian Abbiati with a looping header, but the keeper just managed to tip it over.
Balotelli had another chance later in the half as he drilled it in low, initially catching out Gianluca Curci as he spilled his first attempt, but he was able to gather from Cristian Zaccardo's follow-up.
Keisuke Honda gave Montolivo a second chance shortly before the break, but Curci pulled off another save to prevent the hosts from breaking the deadlock.
