AC Milan captain Massimo Ambrosini has described the derby against Inter Milan as an "important test" of his side's mental strength.
Milan face Andrea Stramaccioni's side on Sunday night after a great run of form since the turn of the year.
Ambrosini has admitted that the Rossoneri's 2-0 win over Barcelona has given them a boost ahead of the clash, but insisted that his side will be wary of the threat Inter pose.
"This game will be an important test in terms of our mentality. We must see if we're good enough to turn enthusiasm into strength," Ambrosini told Corriere dello Sport.
"The victory over Barcelona gave us great enthusiasm, but can also be dangerous, as sometimes it is better to go into a Derby as the underdogs with something to prove."
"I scored my first Serie A goal against Inter when I was playing for Vicenza. I'd pay good money to get a goal tonight! It would be like coming full circle."
Massimiliano Allegri's side currently sit in third place in the Serie A league table.
