Inter Milan and AC Milan have played out a 1-1 draw in their derby encounter at the San Siro in Serie A.
The Rossoneri started strongly and took the lead in the 20th minute when Stephan El Shaarawy was picked out by Kevin-Prince Boateng before flicking the ball past Samir Handanovic.
Handanovic was involved again soon after, but this time he was able to push away Mario Balotelli's header.
Balotelli was denied by the goalkeeper again soon after, while their personal duel saw the striker's free kick turned away in the 40th minute.
Inter's first real chance came 10 minutes into the second half when Fredy Guarin's effort was kept out by Christian Abbiati with an athletic stop.
AC continued to dominate, but Inter snatched an equaliser in the 71st minute, thanks to substitute Ezequiel Schelotto's header from Yuto Nagatomo's cross.
Sulley Muntari's long-range effort flashed wide of the goal in the 75th minute, while Schelotto nearly scored a second in injury time when he was inches away from getting on the end of a cross.
