Atalanta BC's Luca Cigarini has insisted that his side deserved the points against AC Milan in last night's 1-0 win at the San Siro.
Cigarini, who scored the winner in the 64th minute, said that he believes Atalanta's discipline meant they were strongest to pip the result.
"It was a well-fought, beautiful game," Corriere dello Sport quotes Cigarini as saying. "Both teams could have won.
"We won because of our mental point of view. I think Milan played a great game. They had one or two clear scoring chances, but we were disciplined, and therefore deserved the win."
It was Atalanta's first win of the season and left Milan still looking for theirs.
