Kaka has insisted that money was not the motivation for his move to new MLS franchise Orlando City.
The deal which saw the Brazilian leave AC Milan for Florida was confirmed on Tuesday, and the 32-year-old has been eager to dismiss suggestions that high wages were the main reason behind his decision not to stay in Europe.
"At the end of last season, I started to think about my future and whether I would go back to play in Brazil, the USA or stay at Milan," Kaka revealed to reporters.
"It was difficult to leave Milan, [but] my expectation is that soccer is going to become the number one sport in the USA.
"They pay me good [money], but I had another opportunity to earn more money. I always think about the project."
Kaka will play for former club Sao Paulo until Orlando begin competing in MLS in 2015.
