AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato will fly to the United States to determine the extent of his recent thigh complaints.
The 22-year-old has been plagued by injury in recent weeks, and is set to meet with Professor Frederick Carrick at the University of Marietta in the hope that he can be cured of the mystery problem.
Milan's health team coordinator Jean Pierre Meersseman admitted that the Italian club are not searching for a "miracle" but concedes that they are in need of assistance.
"We're not looking for a miracle. We just want to see if there is something we have not understood. Some answers we have, others absolutely not," Meersseman told La Repubblica.
"I don't know if the visit will help us, but for Milan's medical team it is a mystery. Certainly, something has happened but exactly what, I have not the faintest idea."
Pato has made just 11 Serie A appearances this season.
