Andre Silva scores late on as AC Milan beat Chievo 3-2 at San Siro to remain in the hunt for a top-four finish in Serie A.

AC Milan have made it five Serie A wins in a row by recovering from a goal down to beat Chievo 3-2 at San Siro in this afternoon's clash.

The Rossoneri squandered an early lead given to them by Hakan Calhanoglu's strike and trailed to goals from Mariusz Stepinski and Roberto Inglese at the midway point.

Patrick Cutrone found a leveller nine minutes into the second half, though, before Andre Silva snatched all three points late on to keep Milan in the hunt for a top-four finish.

Having crashed out of the Europa League at the hands of Arsenal in midweek, the home side's focus quickly turned back to league matters and they made a quick start as Franck Kessie picked out Calhanoglu to finish from close range.

Chievo soon woke up, however, and they were level with a little over half an hour played thanks to Stepinski, who profited from some poor defending to convert the cross.

The Gialloblu, now beaten in seven of their last eight, completed the turnaround 60 seconds later when Roberto Inglese smashed the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma into the top corner from 20 yards.

Calhanoglu and Suso came close to responding, both skimming the woodwork with their efforts, but the home side did not have to wait long into the second half before equalising.

Stefano Sorrentino parried the ball into the path of Cutrone to turn in the rebound, with the goal given through the use of VAR after initially being flagged for offside.

Calhanoglu tested Sorrentino soon after and, with Milan building momentum, they pounced in the final 10 minutes through Silva's close-range shot - two goals in two games for the Portugal international.

Milan could have extended their lead in stoppage time once Nenad Tomovic was adjudged to have handled the ball, only for Kessie to see his penalty kick kept out by Sorrentino.
